Poop Scoop Week Last week was Poop Scoop week ( I thought that was every week) and Gateshead Council asked me to help publicise the problem. So we rallied and organised a photoshoot with lots of our dogs and some volunteer handlers. Oh I was bursting with pride the guys behaved impeccably and despite their being an audience and 7 people from the council they never batted an eyelid and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Last year I visited all the councils aware that its OUR respnsibility to ensure we keep our areas dog friendly and open for us to enjoy. The fact Chester le street and Gateshead have come forward and not only welcomed the points brought forward they have actively acted on these points. In August we are launching a clean up ession with myself and hopefull a few others to raise money, awareness and of course clean up. The money raised will be the Kennel Club Charitable Trust to help fight for our canine rights a very unestimated and little known issue. I was delighted to see the photo of Tash the superdog being used to front the campaign, oh how proud we are of ours guys Check her out when the photo of page two comes on photo slideshow, more photos will be available later. I look forward to working with Chester le Street soon and lets help to keep our dog areas available.
Thieving swines Just a warning as a friend has been broken into ( private house) and the thieves are doing a run on North East livery yards stealing rugs, saddles etc. Better to be safe than sorry. On a happier note the little Pom ha been rehomed to a fantastic family and is now called Ted!
Found Dog for a change
Anyone would think my time was spent picking up dogs! This little fella was found on the main A road at Wheldon Bridge last Friday. Hes a Red Pomeranian dog. Beautifully cared for, well groomed and well mannered. Took some persuading to be caught as he was scared but jumped into our car( amazing what happens when you have a trip out to Rothbury). I'd guess he was only 1yr old and is a little treasure. Dog warden of course was informed, local pubs, newsagent, vets and online most of the Pom clubs notified. He is currently staying with us and will do until his 28day period is finished then will be rehomed. I am still hoping to find his original owner as he has obviously been well loved. Cat friendly, not noisy and ok with dogs although little shy with my tall guys at first. Tel:0788 182 7899
Easter Eggstravaganza I am so pleased with the response from the Eggstravaganza. Lots of eggs, lots of fabulously decorated eggs and not suprisingly very happy dogs. As the eggs were so diverse I have decided to award prizes in catagories:
Izzo! This is jinxed this post I have now tried to post this four times and each time it has either gone off line, lost it somewhere in the cyberspace or just crashed my computer. So sod the posts previously tried this is going to be short and sweet. Izzo is back safe and sound with only a couple of bite wounds and a chipped tooth. He was rescued by a gentleman who put himself at risk to take him off a group of lads who were trying to fire him into fighting their other dog. He ran all the way home with him and once he rang and I asked questions about him( there have been many many possible sightings of him which turned out to be roaming staffies I asked questions about his distinguishing features, things that make Izzo him) and I finally started feeling hopeful. After whizzing around, Sam helping to make sure everyone was dropped off, let out, fed and the usual we have to do I popped over and cried buckets when it was indeed Izzo. I take my hat of to this lovely man who stepped out of his comfortable life ad helped a dog in need. I only wish he had accepted the reward as he deserved a bit of spoiling and I know he was more than a little sad to see the littlest Hobo heading home. So raise a glass to this special man and to the chunky little dog called Izzo welcome home. Happy Easter!
Izzos poster please help
Stolen Staffie I can barely believe this but one of our wonderful Petnanny dogs has been stolen. Izzo was stolen from Cotehill drive, Ponteland taken by the proverbial white transit at 11.45am. He was wearing a bright blue collar with tag and is chipped and castrated. He is a two year old very drak brindle staffie a real bull headed type. A real sweetie who would only fight if really pushed to. Has white on his chest. They also tried to steal the St Bernard bitch but she wouldnt allow them to catch her. I will post a photo as soon as I dig one out. If you see him or hear about a new staffie turning up please let me know on 07881827899 Owner is frantic and we are all desperate to find this popular boy.
Good news for once
I am delighted to say the blonde lurcher has been found and is well.
Two collie crosses Well I had a little bit of excitement this morning, coming down from the A693 from Stanley I spotted two collie crosses causing chaos on the road so after popping my hazards on I managed to get both off the road and phone Chester dog warden. Whilst waiting for them to come out I managed to drive round to Eden place and catch the dog although the little bitch was having nothing to do with me. After sometime I managd to persuade the bitch to relax with me around and flipped a lead around her jut as the wardens appeared and popped them in their van. Hopefully someone will recognise them and claim them, the dog has a nasty flea allergy that needs treatment but both were in good bodily condition. The bitch was a bit sharp whereas the dog was a sweetie. Both were, bizarrely, docked.

Princess is still missing Its terrible to think a dog can go missing. Just gone. How does anyone cope with a dog that has gone missing? Well despite doing everything to try and find her the owners are still without Princess, shes even on facebook now so lets keep our eyes open when shes out and about. Despite not meeting her I want her found just as I want the lurcher found, I often wonder what happened to the lurcher lost from chester le street year before last and the lady who lost her border terrier. Its not putting me out to look for them and one day if it happens to me I hope people will do the same for me. Princess's page is in link below if you can help you never know.
